SAVU'S STOMP! May 16, 2008 Very "cool" shoe.
Cool as in impression/appearance and cool as in foot temperature (aerobic mesh - very key to happy feet).
I first bought a pair of the Atlantis' before I knew about these Savu's..I'm a fan of Ecco because of their intelligently-designed - meaning stylish, practical, durable and comfortable - shoes (and their Danish origin, as I have, ha-haa, saadan!) but felt like the Atlantis' I got were a bit of an Eccco knock-off.. with sort of a "cheaper" look and feel to them; wear-out-way-too-soon thin soles, sole cushioning too thin, a little-too-pointy-and-bent-in-the wrong-places and a-little-too-sharp, almost tacky - when compared to the Savu's - color scheme.
The Savu's feel more like a solid, durable, practical and thus, "real", shoe; thicker sole and cushioning; and less flashy color contrast (even though I love Blue (any shade) & Silver together, always, it's a little toned down on the Savu's with a lighter blue (which is excellent) and with duller silver reflectors...I would buy the color combo of the Atlantis' - which is a dark blue and more reflective silver - in the Savu design, now...both are good-lookin' (as Danish ladies are, don't ya know, oh behave)
Point: the Savu's are go-in-the-water ready, so they say, not so said about the Atlantis'...
I recognize that the Atlantis' were/are designed to be a jogger's shoe and the Savu's, a, maybe, light hiker or, how 'bout, a more "everyday" shoe. They are calling/classifying it (Savu) as, a "sneaker" and, well I don't see Atlantis' type name, but perhaps this, what I would call "jogger", is designed to be light-weight (hence the thinner sole?) but, I dunno, seems backwards to me...
Train in a heavier shoe and then compete with a lighter weight shoe (like swinging the baseball bat with the metal donut on it before going up to the plate. And then, when you step up to knock the he** outta that ball- without the donut - the bat seems lighter...) but whatever..I'm not a jogger. Too hard on our body's cells, in my opinion..
I want a thick sole and thick cushion. The Savu's got it...kinda...I'd like thicker soles and cushioning, but they're very good.
So I recommend Ecco shoes in general,
the Savu over the Atlantis in specificity and
being increasingly peaceful, happy and successful WITHIN.
Go happy feet go feat happy go
I giv'em an A-minus (only because perfection doesn't exist)
